About Us

A movement built to keep Tanzania's children safe.

We seek support and oversight from the Tanzanian Government to fulfil our vision — a generation of children who grow up safe, empowered, and protected.

Our Vision

To prepare a generation of children in Tanzania where every child is safe, empowered, and protected from abuse, abduction, and trafficking.

Our Mission

To equip children with age-appropriate practical skills to prevent abuse and exploitation, while partnering with government institutions and communities to promote child safety and ensure justice for victims.

Our Objectives

What we've committed to.

The six organizational objectives that guide every program we run, grouped into three areas of work on our Programs page.

01

To provide children with practical safety education that empowers them to recognize, avoid, and respond to situations of abuse, abduction, and trafficking.

02

To raise awareness among parents, guardians, and communities about child protection and their role in creating safe environments for children.

03

To ensure child safety initiatives taken by Child Shield Movement are consistent and adhering with national policies and legal frameworks.

04

Awareness among children and society that enables the identification, reporting, and tracking of abuse cases, thereby enhancing the likelihood of securing justice for victims.

05

To advocate for stronger child protection systems and accountability mechanisms within both local communities and national institutions.

06

To enhance platform for recovery of affected children through counselling, legal assistance, and community care.

Our Approach

Prevention first — and support when it's needed most.

Justice is too often out of reach when victims can't identify their abusers or evidence is lacking. Our approach starts before harm happens: practical, age-appropriate education that helps children recognize danger and speak up — paired with parents, communities, and government working from the same playbook, so that when a child does need help, the systems around them are ready to respond.
